We built shelves by our own selves and did some experimentation. However ready made shelves are way more cheaper. 

Wooden structure for 6 Kayak cost us around  20,000 SEK ( roughly 2000 EUR)

Kayaks and Canoe with life jacket and padel cost us : 30,000 SEK ( 3 ,000 EUR) 

Locks : 6000 SEK ( 600 EUR)

Total investment : 56000 SEK ( 5,600 EUR)

Earning 

It depends on location, an ideal place for kayak business are local lakes with stable water. 

Self service Kayak station is available 24×7 however , according to data

When weather is nice 

Working days : 1600- 2000 ( 4 hours ) 

Holidays : 1000- 2000 ( 10 hours) 

Normal week has 40 business hours.

and with 6 Kayaks, it would become 240 Hours/week

Two Earning models

• Hourly 
• Monthly subscription 

Hourly Model

We start with hourly rentals.

Rent : 10 EUR/hr

with 20% occupancy : 48×10 = 480 EUR

with 50% occupancy: 120×10 = 1200 EUR

If summer is around 15 weeks

with (20%): 15 x480 = 7200 EUR

ROI : 7200-5600 = 1600 EUR

with (50%) : 18000 EUR

ROI : 18000-5600 = 12400 EUR

Subscription Model 

Instead of offering hourly rental, there is possibility to offer to monthly subscription where customers may enjoy kayaking everyday.

Monthly subscription : 40 EUR/month.

We rented around 400 unqiue customers per month.

Number of members /month : 100  

Monthly earning : 4000 EUR

With in four months: 16000 EUR.
